We weren't sure whether to buy the milk frother but it's been much used, kids love the hot chocolate because the milk froth is so dense, makes great cappuccinos too. Little awkward to clean the milk frother but at least it does go in the dishwasher. The coffee is terrific, quick and easy to use. Machine is used much more than we'd expected. If this does ever break down beyond repair, we'd run out and buy the same model without a moment of delay. Water tank is big enough that it doesn't need filling every day, spent coffee grounds come out fairly dry so very little mess. Really happy with this one.

Having had a few bean to cup coffee machines as well as turning many of my friends on to them as well, when the time came for a replacement I looked for quite awhile.
The Eletta has the key features in a bean to cup machine I look for: automatic coffee with a variety of choices and options from cappuccino to latte to simply frothy milk for the kids to do hot chocolate as well as a lovely espresso with flawless crema on top.
With every machine I look for the overhead in usage and maintenance and the Eletta has taken the crown as the best I've used to date. Delonghi have taken some lessons from their previous builds which are evident in this unit and make it much easier to clean and maintain, particularly for the milk carafe and the ability to wipe down the nozzle it inserts to versus the older models where the nozzle was not exposed and thus couldn't be wiped down, ultimately resulting in blockage.
The standard automatic cleaning features are present as well as a much simpler dial to clean the carafe after use instead of holding a button in and the filter definitely improves the flavour.
Although this seems an expensive machine if you like your coffee with milk and prefer a nice, fresh cup every time, it's much cheaper than a coffee from the shops and far more convenient. Visitors love it as do the kids and with the simplicity of use and cleaning it's fantastic.
The initial setup isn't difficult and the water hardness is set to 3 as a default (which is going to cover most, if not all of the UK users). The overall design of the machine is far more sleek and refined than previous versions as well as much more functional.
Compared to more expensive units as well as the cost of grabbing a coffee from the shops, the Eletta is a very worthwhile addition to the kitchen of any coffee lover.

Primarily decided on this model for its carafe froth features. The carafe only pulls through the required amount of milk, so once your coffee has been made (choosing whether you would like no froth, medium or maximum froth) you simply remove the carafe and return to the fridge for next time. This machine has a dedicated cappuccino button which can be programmed to your requirements if you don't like the mix or size of the one pre-programmed. It makes various milk drinks such as Latte, Macchiato etc which you can also alter to your preferred taste. There are many features as listed in the description. The original set-up is a bit of a faff, it comes with a water filter, which needs to be replaced every two months or you can just use a filter jug as a cheaper option. I am still trying to alter the flavours of coffee as it is trial and error until you find the right taste, but being as I am only two days in, I think it's going very well. This machine comes with lots of instructions, a cleaning brush/scraper,coffee spoon for pre-ground coffee, a bottle of descaler and when you register the product within the specified time and you are permanently living in the UK you will receive more descaler and this machine is also eligible for a FREE first annual service (worth seventy pounds). The standard cappuccino and all the other pre-programmed drinks come out piping hot, however if you like very milky drinks using the carafe you might struggle to reach a decent sitting temperature when programming your personal drinks. My 9 and 7 year old can use the milk carafe features with ease for hot chocolate and yes, my Husband has also managed to perfect it too and brings me coffee - yippee!!!! It might be pricey but if you drink and enjoy real coffee with beans and no hassle (once set-up has been completed) then this is the machine for you.
