This was bought as a present for us, we didn't expect too much as we would have probably bought the larger version. We have cleaned two carpets so far and I must say I'm very impressed, we have a water softener so we don't need to make the mixture too strong, about 30ml per Ltr is about right.It sucks up most of the water and our carpets dried over night but this may vary if you have deep pile carpets.We used it on a very dirty door mat made of carpet and it came up so well we couldn't tell it apart from a new one that we still have. So we are very pleased with it.

The cleaning liquid is not readily available in supermarkets. It needs to be ordered from JL and the process is time consuming.

Initially thought it was doing an okay job, with carpet looking fresher, however constantly had to remove a build-up of sludgy matter from the area around the rollers, which was not easy and even after doing this, the machine left dirty streaks on my beige carpet which were not there before so would not recommend! Returned via Hermes courier service and money promptly refunded by John Lewis.

Got half way to putting this together. Noticed the handle release peddle did nothing as unit just wobbling about. Called Vax, helpful but agreed this shouldn't be happening. Back in box for John Lewis to collect. Didn't even get a chance to plug it in. Wasted day off work. Disappointing and useless bit of kit, not fit for purpose.
