Expanded Sony A6400A Digital Camera Body Key Features:
Lightning-Fast Performance
Thanks to the newly developed BIONZ X image processor, users benefit from the A6400A's outstanding AF system. Approximately 84% of the image is covered with 425 phase-detection and 425 contrast-detection AF points, achieving speeds of 0.02 seconds.
Real-Time Eye AF
Advanced Real-Time Eye AF with AI-based object recognition detects and processes eye data in real time. This allows the camera to measure autofocus accurately in all AF modes. The feature can be triggered automatically by half-pressing the shutter button. In AF-C or AF-A mode, users can select the subject's left or right eye as the focus point.
Real-Time Tracking
The Real-Time Tracking AF function uses AI-based object recognition, considering colour, subject distance (depth), and pattern (brightness) as spatial data, ensuring excellent accuracy for any subject.
Outstanding Image Quality
The 24.2-megapixel imaging sensor, paired with the BIONZ X image processor, delivers exceptional performance. The ISO range extends up to ISO 32000 (expandable to ISO 102400 for still images). Noise reduction enhances image quality at both medium and high sensitivities for stills and video.
4K Video Capture
The A6400A supports internal 4K recording with full pixel readout and no pixel binning. Oversampling collects approximately 2.4x the data required for UHD video, resulting in excellent quality. Hybrid Log-Gamma profiles enable Instant HDR workflows, a first for cropped sensor Sony mirrorless cameras.
Elevated Time-Lapse Functionality
The internal Intervalometer records each frame at intervals of 1-60 seconds, allowing for beautiful time-lapses. Users can set the total number of shots between 1 and 9999. AE tracking sensitivity options (Low, Medium, High) help ensure consistent exposure throughout the video.
