The Nikon D5600 Digital SLR Camera Body is a mid-range DSLR designed for hobbyists who wish to explore the creative world of photography. The D5600 utilises a 3.2" vari-angle touchscreen, 24-megapixel DX-format sensor, EXPEED 4 processor, and a 39-point AF system, same as its predecessor. There are, of course, new features such as Bluetooth and NFC connectivity; enhanced touchscreen functionality; and time-lapse movie mode.

The EXPEED 4 image-processing engine has top-quality noise-reduction technologies that perform well even when working at a high ISO. Shoot in low-light and difficult lighting conditions with ease thanks to an ISO range of 100-25600 with an expanded ISO sensitivity of 6400 when working in Night Landscape mode. These properties allow you to capture exactly what you intent to capture and share it with friends, family, or followers.

In-Camera Creative Tools

There is a fantastic selection of in-camera creative tools to optimise your creative expression. These effects can be easily previewed in Live View and adjusted in intensity before you apply them to your shot. Such creative tools include Picture Controls that allow you to fine-tune contrast and saturation; Flat Picture Control facilitates easier tweaking of your videos during post-production; and a range of effects in the retouch menu support quick mood adjustment of photos in-camera or heightening of the atmosphere. Additionally, you can create and save custom Picture Controls to quickly achieve your signature style. Thanks to the included SnapBridge connectivity you can also utilise your smartphone or tablet to expand the creative control over the images with apps.

D-Movie and Time-Lapse Movie

One of the brand new features added to the D5600 is the D-Movie and Time-Lapse Movie functions allowing you to capture smooth and finely detailed Full HD videos. These are easy to share thanks to the SnapBridge connection. The D-Movie mode facilitates capture at up to 50p/60p frame rates. To capture sharp fast-paced action make sure to use the Continuous Live View autofocus (Full-time-servo AF mode). When working with an AF-P NIKKOR kit lens, its built-in stepping motor will help reduce drive noise even further. The Time-Lapse Movie function, on the other hand, adopted from Nikon's advanced DSLRs, takes slow-motion clouds, crowded streets etc. and turns them into high-speed sequences.

Vari-Angle Touchscreen

The large 8.1cm (3.2") Vari-Angle touchscreen is capable of flipping, tilting, and rotating to provide you with a tool to compose the perfect photo. Thanks to its versatility, you have a clear view of virtually any angle; whether the camera is up, down or far from your body. Operability has been greatly improved; simply tap the touchscreen to focus and shoot much like with a smartphone. Touch controls can be utilised during Viewfinder capture or during image playback. When working in viewfinder mode, the Fn function is a convenient alternative to the command dial or the multi-selector. Adjusting aperture, auto sensitivity, select focus, and more directly through the touchscreen is possible. When working with Image Playback, you can quickly scroll through images with the frame advance bar, taken from Nikon's pro D5 and D500.
