Designed for Desktop

HyperDeck Shuttle HD is perfectly built for desktop use. Designed to be operated with a single hand, this deck benefits from a gentle angle, a large search dial and easily accessible control buttons - all designed for a smooth and comfortable operating experience. In line with Blackmagic’s broadcast range, the depth and angle of the HyperDeck Shuttle match perfectly with the ATEM Mini Extreme, so you can streamline your setup with well-suited gear.

Scrolling media to find the perfect clip is also less of an ordeal with the machined metal search dial. With natural inertia and a soft rubber surface, the dial provides relaxed navigation as your browse through your files. When you’ve got your clip, it’s simple to broadcast using the traditional control buttons. Positioned just above the dial, you can use the previous clip button to cue the start of the clip and transform your HyperDeck Shuttle into a professional media player.

Traditional Broadcast Deck Controls

The HyperDeck Shuttle HD includes a whole host of traditional broadcast buttons to give you the flexibility and creativity you need. Settings are accessed via the menu button, which is recessed to prevent any accidental presses. Here, you can set your desired recording codec. To record, it’s as simple as pressing the big red button. The media status lights will turn red when recording and green when playing back.

The playback options are even greater. You can switch your content up using the next and previous clip buttons, browse media with the scroll button, cue specific frames with the jog button and play footage in slow motion using the shuttle button. And of course, play and stop take centre stage at the top of the deck for simple playback control.

Supports Popular Codecs

HyperDeck Shuttle HD supports the most popular codecs in use today. With support for ProRes and DNx files, you can record true broadcast masters in exceptional quality. Or, to save space, opt for the H.264 file format and optimise your space when recording in NTSC, PAL, 720p, 1080p and true 1080i interlaced formats. The tight 60:1 to 285:1 compression ratios allow you to keep files small whilst maintaining full broadcast quality. HyperDeck Shuttle HD also supports both ExFAT (used on Windows) and HFS+ (used on Mac) disk formatting standards, so disks can be mounted and read on both platforms.

Powerful Ports

For such a small design the HyperDeck Shuttle HD boats pretty powerful connections. Benefitting from two HDMI ports, this deck can be connected to cameras and switchers (HDMI IN) as well as monitors for presentations (HDMI OUT). To enable remote control and file uploads, Blackmagic has also included a 1G Ethernet port to get you online as well as a USB-C expansion port for recording to large external disks. This makes the HyperDeck Shuttle HD the ideal device for unlimited use.

However, to prevent users from having to invest in expensive custom media, the HyperDeck Shuttle HD also includes ports for SD and UHS-II cards. When using the H.264 format, the incredibly small size of the files fits comfortably even on smaller, low-cost cards. So, you can record up to 157 hours of H.264 in 1080p59.94 on a 1 TB card alone.

FAQs:

Do I need any other software to use the teleprompter function?

No customer software is required to use the HyperDeck Shuttle HD as a teleprompter. Scripts can be written in simple text editors such as TextEdit and read as standard RTF files using the teleprompter function in the record menu. If you press both jog and scroll buttons, you can also live scroll the script like a traditional teleprompter.

How do I access the settings menu?

To access the settings menu, attach your video output device and press the menu button on the HyperDeck Shuttle HD. The settings menu will appear as an overlay on the video output. The HyperDeck Shuttle HD does not have its own display.

Is this deck compatible with any other devices?

HyperDeck Shuttle HD is a brilliant companion for other Blackmagic products, including switchers, cameras and streaming solutions. You can also add the Blackmagic MultiDock 10G to use regular SSDs for greater compatibility with media from other HyperDeck models. HyperDeck Shuttle HD is also designed to pair with ATEM switchers to provide a greater variety of recording formats.

Does this support multiple languages?

HyperDeck Shuttle HD supports multiple languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, German, French, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Polish and Ukrainian languages. When initially powered on, HyperDeck Shuttle HD will display a menu for selecting a language which can always be changed via the menu at any time in the future.
