Expanded DJI P4 Multispectral Drone Key Features:
Intelligent Agricultural Monitoring
The P4 Multispectral drone is designed exclusively for agricultural and environmental research purposes. It is used ideally for the monitoring and understanding of crop and vegetation health. The advanced imaging system lets you see more than just the visible light and also, below the surface. This high-precision drone can be used to gather accurate plant-level data. It provides a maximum flight time of up to 27 minutes and a maximum transmission range of up to 7 km.
Imaging System
The imaging system of the drone consists of 6 cameras with 1/2.9-inch CMOS sensors that can capture both colour and narrow-band images. It has a built-in OcuSync HD image transmission for stable and accurate data transmission. It can be used to view the GNDVI, NDVI or NDRE images in real-time. You can gain insights into plant health and understand soil conditions or plant growth with this advanced plant-based drone. It generates accurate multispectral index maps for detailed plant and soil status analysis. The integrated spectral sunlight sensor captures solar irradiance for consistency of data collected at different sunlight levels.
Precise Data Collection
The 6-camera system and the TimeSync system of DJI enable real-time accurate data collection. It provides centimetre-level accurate measurements and continually aligns the cameras, the RTK module and the flight controller. It can fix the positioning data to the centre of the CMOS and provides accurate metadata of the photos to be utilised for post-processing. All cameras go through a rigorous calibration process where the tangential and radial lens distortions are measured.
RTK Compatibility
It includes an RTK module that can increase the accuracy of the GPS location data. It is compatible with the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station and the NTRIP (Network Transport of RTCM via Internet Protocol). It can maintain the positioning accuracy without the internet connection or store the satellite observation data for PPK (Post Processed Kinematics).
Remote Controller
The included remote controller of the drone features the long-range transmission technology, OcuSync, to enable a transmission range of 7 km. It can be connected to an iPad via the USB port to use the DJI GS Pro application for planning missions and flights. It also enables you to export the captured images for analysis and create multispectral maps. It is used to control the gimbal cameras and the aircraft.

FAQs:
What is the image position compensation?
The relative positions of the centre of the six CMOS cameras and the phase centre of the onboard D-RTK antenna have been calibrated. They are recorded in the EXIF data of each captured image.
Which filters are used in the cameras?
The imaging system camera uses 5 filters for the 5 cameras, except for the one that captures standard sunlight. The Blue (B), Green (G), Red (R), Red Edge (RE), and Near-Infrared (NIR) filters are used in the drone’s cameras.
What propellers does the drone use?
It uses 4 pairs of 9455S low-noise propellers. It is also compatible with the Phantom 4 Series propellers but it will slightly affect the flight performance.
How can an appropriate flight attitude be calculated based on the GSS value?
The GSD (Ground Sample Distance) for the P4 is (H/18.9) cm/pixel and the height of the flight mission can be calculated based on the needed accuracy.
What is the maximum mapping area in a single flight?
The P4 Multispectral drone has a maximum mapping area of around 0.47 sq. km. for a single flight at an altitude of 180 metres. This means that the GSD is around 9.52 cm/pixel.
