FAQs:
Do I need to purchase a separate SFP module? Or is it supplied with the converter?
You have to purchase the SPF module seperately to use this converter with one SMPTE optical fibre input.
Is there any latency when converting SDI to fibre optic and then back to SDI again?
There is no latency while performing this procedure. Whilst switching back and forth between video standards can usually be a length process, this converter uses optical fibre to transmit with speed.
Does this converter work with Multi-mode fibre?
Multi-mode works fine on this converter. However, it is recommended to use a single-mode fibre as it offers higher bandwidth and is capable of running on longer distances when compared to multi-mode.
Are the bidirectional inputs simultaneous?
The bidirectional inputs on this converter are multi-rate as well as simultaneous.
Can you use this converter with a battery?
You can use this converter with a battery and the operational voltage ranges within 6-36 V DC so make sure to use a battery with specified discharge power. It comes with a 12 V AC adapter for continuous use. It is recommended to be careful about polarity. This converter is not reverse polarity protected.
