Cross-conversion and Multiple Audio Connections

The converter includes one 3G/HD/SD-SDI input, two 3G/HD/SD-SDI outputs and on loop-through output, one HDMI input and one HDMI output. The 3G-SDI connections are multi-rate and can automatically detect the input video format. The mini converter offers full up, down and cross conversion between SD and HD video formats up to 1080p60. It scales the computer’s video to broadcast television and supports embedded SDI and HDMI audio.

What are the storage environmental specifications?

The optimum operating temperature for the converter is 0 to 40-degree Celsius. It should be stored in a cool, dry place at a temperature range of 0 to 45 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity should be 0% to 90% non-condensing.

Is the audio-video delay adjustable?

The converter supports embedded audio over SDI and HDMI but does not offer audio or video delay adjustments. The sync of the AV will remain the same as it came in. The delay can be up to 2 frames based upon the conversion type, and the audio will be maintained. As the delay length is not adjustable, if the AV comes in sync it will go out in sync and vice versa. The audio gets automatically synced to the converted video.

What is the converter’s voltage range?

The UpDownCross HD converter has a voltage range of 6 V to 36 V and has a power consumption of 5 W.

Is there a USB Type-C output?

The mini converter has a USB Type-C connection but is only for setup or software updates. There is no video on this connection.

Which operating systems is the converter compatible with?

The operating systems that are compatible with the Blackmagic Mini Converter are Mac 10.15 Catalina, Mac 11.1 Big Sur or later, and Windows 10 (64-bit).
