Modular Design

The 300XM gimbal is characterised by its modular design that helps enhance workflows and increase creative output. This advanced design allows you to go between shots faster than ever and capture shots that would not be possible with other gimbal systems. The handle and gimbal can be detached for greater versatility, allowing the gimbal to be used in various configurations.

The gimbal can be controlled remotely via Manfrotto’s dedicated app meaning you can either set the gimbal up on a stand/tripod and control its movement without the need of the main control handle or when working together with another creative who can hold the unit while you change settings away from the scene. The unit can be taken apart and attached to different Manfrotto products e.g. GimBoom or tripods, or you can use the Detachable Mini Tripod for tabletop use.

Intuitive Features

Manfrotto has packed this gimbal full of innovative and enhanced electronics that help to further increase productivity and creativity such as motion presets and increased operating sensitivity.

Two major features of this gimbal that enhance control are the intuitive LCD touch screen and electronic multifunction knob. The LCD screen can be used to effortlessly set up your gimbal ready for use and/or change settings on the fly. The electronic multifunction knob (with buttons A and B) has been added to enables you to set up shooting points that can easily and precisely replicate shots. You can set mark points and play with the movement of the axis as well as customise the dumper and work with different curves.

In addition, this invaluable electronic multifunction knob mark that lets you mark shooting points to easily replicate shots, the 300XM also feautres intelligent balance position memory index. This function is used to reduce the time it takes to rebalance your system when switching our cameras. Best of all, this is available on both vertical and cross arms for even faster transitions.

Intelligent Design

You’d think that there couldn’t be any more to say about this gimbal, but that’s where you’d be wrong. The 300XM is designed for convenience and user experience, and with that, Manfrotto used a 501PL shape + 3/8” thread easy connection to other supports such as the Manfrotto GimBoom, Gim-Pod and tripods (when the handle is detached). This revolutionises the ways in which you can shoot, offing a huge range of different angles and feels to your films.

The 300XM has a 3.4kg maximum payload meaning it is suitable for a range of CSC, Mirrorless and DSLR cameras, and with a redesigned ergonomic joystick that offers a more precise operation, you can make the most of each and every shoot, capturing dynamic and engaging footage. Flexibility is further increased with multiple charing options which means you can recharge both handle and gimbal at the same time or separately.

What is the maximum payload and how much does the unit weigh?

The unit weighs just 2kg on its own (without a camera/lens etc.) and has a maximum payload of 3.4kg which is suitable for a wide range of camera options.

What’s the battery life like? How long does it take to charge?

The unit will offer 10 hours of use in normal working conditions. It’ll charge up in around 2.6h, with a normal charger. This can be sped up if using a quick charger.
