Common Criteria EAL 5+ Secure Microprocessor
The diskAshur DT2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 HDD incorporates Common Criteria EAL 5+ secure microprocessor that helps enhance security through integrated cryptography and true random number generation. FIPS & Common Criteria validated wrapping algorithms protects the data encryption key and provides security against potential hackers. It also detects and responds to tampering with several features like dedicated hardware for protection against DEMA and SEMA/DPA/SPA attacks while also providing advanced protection against physical attacks, like Parity Errors, Enhance Protection Object, Slope Detector, CStack checker, and Active Shield.
Tamper-proof Design
The tamper-proof design of the iStorage diskAshur DT2 hard drive acts as a barrier between hackers and the data. All its components are protected by a layer of tough epoxy resin, which is extremely difficult to remove without causing any damage to the components. This design helps prevent hackers from accessing the HDD’s critical components.
Brute Force Hack Defense Mechanism
The diskAshur DT2 hard drive is specially programmed to defend against all types of brute force attacks. The HDD freezes itself if you enter incorrect PIN entries five times consecutively. To get another five PIN attempts, you are required to disconnect and reconnect it to the USB port. The drive freezes again if you further enter five incorrect PIN entries. To get five last PIN attempts, you are required to press the "shift" button whilst powering the drive off and back on. This allows you to enter a preset PIN. On the 15th consecutive incorrect PIN entry, the DT2 hard drive presumes that someone is attacking it and deletes the encryption key and locks itself. In such cases, you can reset the HDD to factory default settings and redeploy it.

The balance of the finance agreement is payable directly to Novuna Consumer Finance in equal monthly instalments by monthly direct debit. The direct debit payments will commence at the end of the first month following receipt of your goods. The interest rate charged is 13.9% APR. Buy now pay later
The Buy Now Pay Later option comprises a 36 month loan following a six month deferral period.
During the six-month deferral period, it is possible to pay off the loan, either by way of a lump sum or in smaller amounts. If the loan is partially repaid within six months, the remaining interest will be adjusted to reflect the new balance. If the loan is fully repaid within the six-month deferral period, then no interest is payable, however, a £29 early settlement fee is payable in respect of repayments within these six months.
Following the six-month deferral period, Novuna Personal Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan. Interest will be charged at a rate of 18.9% APR on outstanding balances (backdated to the first date of the loan). Novuna Personal Finance will send a reminder letter approximately one month before the six-month deferral period is due to elapse.
