Reliable Protection against Brute Force Hacking

The diskAshur DT2 HDD keeps your data secure against all forms of attacks. When a hacker enters the wrong PIN five times consecutively, the drive freezes. Then you need to disconnect the drive and reconnect it to the USB port to get five more chances for entering the correct PIN. Wrong entries of the PIN for five times more will lead the diskAshur DT2 HDD to freeze again. You get five final PIN attempts out of the 15 attempts for which you need to keep the "shift" button pressed while inserting the USB cable into the USB port to enter a preset PIN. When you or any hacker enters a PIN entry incorrectly for the 15th time, the diskAshur DT2 HDD deletes the encryption key and locks itself, causing all data stored on it lost forever. In such a scenario, the only way is to reset the HDD to factory default settings and re-deploy it.

EDGE (Enhanced Dual Generating Encryption) Technology

The diskAshur DT2 HDD is equipped with a built-in FIPS PUB 197 validated AES-XTS 256-bit hardware encryption engine to facilitate max-level data security. The key is generated randomly by Common Criteria EAL4+ ready random number generator and protected by FIPS validated wrapping algorithms to enhance security. Its built-in cryptography, active-shield technology, and physical mechanisms protect the drive from external tamper, bypass laser attacks, and fault injections. Its advanced microprocessor uses algorithms to encrypt both the data and the encryption key to provide you peace of mind for your secured data.

Ultra-speed USB 3.1 interface

The iStorage diskAshur DT2 256-bit HDD comes with a USB cable through which you can connect your drive to your computer. It doesn’t come with an integrated cable and hence you need not worry about it.

Even after unlocking my diskAshur DT2, if I don’t see my drive on my PC, what should I do?

If you see the solid green LED light but are unable to find your drive on your desktop, it means that the drive is getting connected. You can check Disk Management and see the availability of iStorage diskAshur DT2 256-bit HDD there. Your OS may ask you to initialise, allocate, and format the drive to the correct file system accordingly.
