    The iStorage cloudAshur Encryption Module 256-bit can be configured for auto-lock when there is no longer any power to the USB port or it is unplugged from the host PC.

    What happens if you break or lose the iStorage cloudAshur Encryption Module 256-bit? Can I back up the key when provisioning without purchasing a backup key?

    If you lose the iStorage cloudAshur and do not have a backup cloudAshur, then you won’t be able to decrypt data that was encrypted using the broken/lost iStorage cloudAshur. Moreover, if anybody else finds the cloudAshur, then they will also not be able to decrypt your data as they will require the PIN along with other credentials. It is recommended to have a backup key. You can copy the Critical Security Parameters using the iStorage KeyWriter software on a spare drive.
