For those that own an iPhone 11 or 12, you are granted access to the AirTag's Ultra Wideband technology with its high-functioning Precision Finding feature. You are presented with a large on-screen arrow that points in the direction of the AirTag, whilst displaying the exact distance it is from your phone. Think of it as an advanced version of the ‘hot and cold' game.

If you have truly exhausted every other resource, you can access the wider Find My network of Apple devices. This works by sending out a secure Bluetooth signal that can then be picked up by any Find My-equipped device in the surrounding area (iPad, iPhone, Macbook etc). If one of these devices does locate your AirTag, you will receive an iCloud notification and its location displayed on the map within the Find My app. Of course, this whole process is both anonymous and fully encrypted for you and others within the network.
