Sate-of-the-Art Optics
With Super ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements and an aspherical glass element, the lens delivers high-quality, clear images. Chromatic aberrations are effectively compensated for and kept to a minimum, especially axial chromatic aberration, and purple fringing is prevented when working with backlighting. Distortions are also kept to a close zero when working with a focusing distance of 4m, making it a great lens for portrait photographers.
Supersonic Direct-Drive Motor
The Supersonic Direct-Drive Motor (SDM) ring has been exclusively designed for this lens. It delivers seamless, high-speed AF operation while incorporating an exterior design that provides a secure grip, supporting the manual-focus operation.
