I recently upgraded from a Surface Laptop Studio (2022) to a new model, noticing a significant performance boost. Initially installed a 2TB NVMe drive, considering a future upgrade to 4TB. Since I bypassed the pre-installed system with a fresh Win11 Pro setup, I can't comment on the default software. However, I found Armoury Crate overly complex but was relieved by G-Helper's efficiency. The keyboard's UK layout presents a quirky challenge, particularly the return key. I've mostly turned off the Animatrix display due to its gimmick nature and one overly bright LED. Gaming on titles like Overwatch and Diablo 4 has been satisfactory, though not as smooth as my R9 7950x and RTX 4090 desktop. The laptop's portability and efficiency are its main draws, allowing for high-demand games when travelling. For regular use, I connect through a USB-C/TB4 Dock, switching to a 240w charger for gaming sessions. Despite its good build, the laptop heats up significantly under load, necessitating a cooling stand. Noise levels are similar to my previous Surface Laptop Studio, but with improved gaming performance. The overall build quality is commendable, with minor issues in the Animatrix lighting.
