Our first food mixer lasted less than 12 Months when the beaters jammed which seems to be the same problem as most of the complaints. John Lewis replaced this one because of the 2 year warranty. The 2nd one lasted less than 2 years due to the same fault but sadly the receipt is now lost so have thrown it away. There is obviously a fundamental fault with this mixer which Dualit have not resolved so would not buy another and would certainly not recommend it. John lewis please do not give me your stock answer as you can see by the one star rating by most reviews you should not stock this fault prone product which does not enhance your quality image.

In fairness, this mixer was just under 21/2 years old. However, not impressed that one of the mixer blades came away from the main shaft, at the top. It was clearly a faulty join.
Not as if my wife was using it for sand and cement, this was mashed potato!
The casing has a crack at the front, too.
Really unimpressed, rubbish product. John Lewis, who I really rate, should discontinue stocking it

I usually love Dualit as it is good quality, but unfortunately my hand mixer has done exactly the same as others - broken! The beaters have jammed after mixing cake mix - not anything out of the ordinary so clearly there is a major mechanical issue. Luckily I have found the receipt and still in guarantee so hopefully I will be able to exchange when I go into John Lewis soon. I hope Dualit have rectified the issue so this doesn't happen again.

We have now had two of these mixers in as many years. The first one I returned as it was still under warranty and was given a replacement. They really are rubbish and not worth the money. I complained to Dualit who offered me 34% off a replacement........Even this is not enough to make me want to buy another one.

Please John Lewis, listen to your customers! We trust you to stock hard-working products and usually you get it right. But we've now had two Dualit hand mixers, and both have ceased to work in less than 2 years. We bought both in store (assumed the first was a dud so, stupidly, tried again) but when the beaters jammed on our second Dualit today, We looked it up on your site to find scathing reviews. We'll do our homework this time, but trust you to do the same JL, as you usually do. (PS tell Dualit to stick with toasters; we love ours and can replace elements ourselves when they go.., alas not true of mixers!)

This is my second Dualit mixer. Returned the first as the beaters stopped turning as described in other reviews. John Lewis replaced it as it was still under guarantee. Now my second one has done exactly the same. Its was only used for mixing cake mix and icing so never under a huge amount of strain, Its a rubbish product - will never buy Dualit again.

We have had two of these hand-mixers, the first lasted just under a year and the gears went, so the beaters would not go round. The second is 3 months old, and two days ago it stopped working on speed setting 2 and yesterday, the gears went again, so the beaters don't go round. Given Dualit's reputation I had expected it to last for YEARS and not to go through two machines in less than 18 months. My last machine was a relatively cheap Kenwood, and lasted for about 10 years. I will not buy this one again.

I am now on my third and would definitely not purchase another - style over substance. Just stops working - beaters jam and loss of power - all have lasted 12-18 months - extremely disappointing
